1. Why choose Roller Bearings (075/076) over Bushing pumps

The roller-bearing design is more forgiving in systems where fluid cleanliness is difficult to maintain (e.g., mining) and is superior at handling radial side-loads. While bushing pumps (like the PGP365) offer higher pressure, the 075/076 offers higher  durability and flow capacity  for heavy-duty mechanical drives.

2. What is the difference between PGP075 and PGP076

The PGP075 is the  standard single-unit  or front-section pump, while the PGP076 is designed as a  tandem/multiple unit  configuration with specialized porting and through-shaft capabilities to drive additional pump sections.

3. What is the working pressure range of PGP075/PGP076 pumps

These are heavy-flow, moderate-to-high pressure pumps. Most sizes handle a continuous pressure of  2,500 PSI (172 bar) , making them suitable for massive hydraulic actuators that require significant volume rather than extreme pressure.

4. Can PGP075/PGP076 pumps replace other brands

Yes, they are the industry standard for large cast iron pumps and can typically replace:
  • Permco: P7500 / P7600 Series.

  • Oil Type: Premium mineral-based hydraulic fluids with strong Anti-Wear (AW) additive packages to maintain the lubricating film on bearing races under massive loads.

  • Viscosity: Standard ISO VG32 to VG68. The optimal operating range is 100 to 150 SUS (20 to 30 cSt), while maintaining a minimum viscosity of 60 SUS (10 cSt) at peak temperatures.

  • Filtration: Cleanliness is vital. A minimum filtration of ISO 4406 18/16/13 is recommended to prevent "spalling" of the roller bearings and premature wear of the gear teeth.

6. What is the typical speed range and filtration requirement of PGP075/PGP076 pumps

  • Speed: Up to 2,400 RPM.

  • Filtration: A minimum of ISO 4406 18/16/13 is recommended. Despite being robust, clean oil ensures the massive roller bearings achieve their maximum rated service life.
